Eric Church is nominated in some of the most important categories in the 2015 ACM Awards, but if he doesn't win any of them, he's okay with that.

Taste of Country Nights host Sam Alex caught up with Church on Saturday (April 18) in Dallas, where he was rehearsing for the awards show. Asked who he would thank if he wins, Church demurred.

"Aww, come on," he said. "You know what? I think that's bad karma, first of all, to even think about it. But you know, for me, I've never really put a lot of weight as far as the award thing, and here's why. I feel like you make the music you make; if you win, you win, if you don't, you don't. You still make the music you make."

Church scored multiple nominations this year, including Male Vocalist, Album and Song of the Year. He says his current album, The Outsiders, speaks for itself regardless of awards.

"For me it's always, win or lose, I can feel pretty good knowing that I'm proud of what The Outsiders has done, I'm proud of the album, and I'm proud of where we are at this point in time."

Keith Urban tells Taste of Country that he and Church are opening the ACMs broadcast on Sunday with a dual performance. They currently have a duet, “Raise ‘Em Up,” in release.

The 2015 ACM Awards air live from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on Sunday on CBS.
