Lainey Wilson may still be country music’s reigning queen of bell-bottoms — but at the ACM Awards, she switched things up in a big way.

The Entertainer of the Year nominee hit the carpet in a dramatic flowing red gown instead of her signature retro flares, giving fans a rare glimpse at a completely different side of her style.

The newly married country superstar pulled off the glamorous look with ease.

Wilson arrived at the ACM Awards wearing a strapless red fringe gown that immediately stood out from her usual Western-inspired looks.

A Big Night for Lainey

The fashion moment came during an especially huge night for Wilson professionally.

The reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year entered the evening with seven nominations, including another shot at the night’s biggest honor.

Wilson has continued dominating country music over the past year thanks to the success of her Whirlwind era, nonstop touring and high-profile appearances across music and television.

Fresh Off Her Wedding

The ACM Awards also marked one of Wilson’s first major appearances since marrying former NFL player Devlin “Duck” Hodges.

The couple tied the knot on May 10 in Tennessee at The Ruskin, a scenic property featuring caves, waterfalls and natural rock formations.

Wilson told Vogue the venue immediately felt right after the couple spotted a billboard for the property while driving through Tennessee backroads.

“Duck said, ‘You wanna get married there?’ I said, ‘Done deal,’” she recalled. For the ceremony, Wilson wore a custom Oscar de la Renta gown decorated with tiny Japanese cherry blossoms.

Now, just days later, she’s back on one of country music’s biggest red carpets — and proving she can rock a glamorous gown just as confidently as a pair of bell bottoms.
