Garth Brooks uses strong words to describe the mother his middle daughter August has become. She was just 19 when she made him a first-time grandfather, but the singer says his daughter was made to be a mom.

"No offense to my mom, or Ms. Yearwood’s mom, or Sandy’s mom,” Brooks tells Linda G of Taste of Country station Kicks 105.5 in Brookfield, Ct. “I’m not sure any of them could hold a candle to my daughter."

Brooks' granddaughter, Karalynn, was born in July 2013, so she’ll soon be turning three years old. Grandpa Garth admits the family worried about what effects the birth would have on his baby's life, but it sounds like the little girl has been the missing puzzle piece.

“It always turns out that that baby is the glue that holds the whole family together,” he assures. “She’s the little stem that kind of holds the whole family together, and it’s kind of new for us.”

“She’s a doll.”

This conversation took place after Brooks press conference at Yankee Stadium on May 17. The New York City shows run July 8-9, but tickets were still selling rapidly as of Friday morning, and a note from his publicist hints that more could be added. Trisha Yearwood has opened all shows on the Garth Brooks World Tour, which is about halfway through it’s U.S. and Canadian run.
