George Jones Concerts Canceled Due to Illness
"No Show Jones" rides again! Country legend George Jones has canceled a pair of performances scheduled for this week as a result of an undisclosed illness, according to his publicist.
The singer, who earned that nickname earlier in his career, when a well-documented battle with alcohol abuse resulted in many canceled performances, seemingly has a different reason for missing tonight's scheduled show in Akron, Ohio and Friday's concert in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.
Jones, famous for singing 'He Stopped Loving Her Today,' 'White Lightning' and dozens more hits across his five-plus decades in the business, has reportedly been clean and sober for years now.
The Akron show has already been rescheduled for Feb. 13, with a new Wilkes-Barre date expected shortly, so presumably this is just a short-term illness and the singer will be back in front of his fans shortly.
