Hunter Hayes is one step closer to the Hall of Fame with his latest single, "21," but he's facing a difficult challenge today and over the weekend.

The singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist soundly defeated the latest single from Alan Jackson in a matchup that saw his Hayniacs turning out to vote overwhelmingly for the new song, which is a fun summer single with a positive take on living it up.

He's up against "Ladybug," a sweet, somewhat plaintive song from Randy Rogers and Wade Bowen. The two longtime friends are two of the biggest acts in Texas music, and they've teamed up for the new track, which is from their new collaborative album, Hold My Beer Vol. 1. While Hayes' song is very contemporary, Rogers and Bowen keep it heavily traditional, and their devoted fan bases are bound to give the Hayniacs a run for their money.

Listen to clips of both Hayes and Rogers and Bowen’s songs and vote for your favorite here. You can vote once every hour until this Showdown ends on Monday at 8AM ET, so come back and vote often to be sure your artist wins. The winner of this matchup will face a new challenger on Monday.

Showdown Rules: The song with the most votes wins, and the winner goes on to face a new challenger in the next Showdown. Vote as much as once per hour online. If a song wins five Showdowns in a row, it will be retired into the Taste of Country Showdown Hall of Fame to allow for new songs to compete. Some songs will be considered for a second Showdown if voter turnout is healthy in a losing effort.
