In addition to being a chart-topping country star, Jake Owen is also known for his other love, his boat. He can always count on his 4-year-old daughter Pearl to enjoy it just as much as he does, especially during the summertime.

"She likes water. She loves the boat. We go out on the boat a lot," Owen tells Taste of Country about Pearl's favorite summertime activities. "I mean kids, they love pools, swimming pool, running through sprinklers, anything like that."

When they're not heading out on the lake in the singer's custom Wakesetter 23 LSV boat, the two still find lots of ways to have fun. "We're always throwing water balloons...or doing something. She keeps me busy, for sure," he says.

Pearl isn't the only one who Owen gets to share his love of sports with. In June of 2017, a new baseball park was dedicated in his honor in his hometown of Vero Beach, Fla. The new venue offers kids the opportunity not only to learn how to play sports but also have access to after school programs and even receive coaching from local law enforcement and firefighters. The singer is humbled by the gesture, to say the least.

"I hope they take the same thing out of the experience that I got when I was a kid," he says of the new park. "You have to learn to lose to understand the feeling of winning, and you have to win in order to understand the feeling of losing. I just think that, as a child, that's important to learn and to always kind of build that sort of feeling of trying your hardest every time you put your mind towards anything."

"Good Company," the latest single off Owen's 2016 album American Love, is currently on country radio.
