"In life there's always going to be obstacles," Jake Owen reminds himself in a video recap of his first day on the road for his Love Bus Road Trip. "We declared that we were going to set out on this journey and out on this journey we shall go."

Unfortunately for Owen, sometimes that journey includes the bus breaking down, which happened on Sunday night (March 6) just 10 miles outside of one of his scheduled stops in St. Augustine.

"I broke down on the side of the highway," he revealed in a message on Facebook. "I ran out of gas or my fuel pump has gone out. I'm sitting here on the side of the road. It's actually kind of cool for me because I don't get to spend a lot of time in the back of the van because I've been driving the whole time."

As Owen was sitting waiting for assistance on the side of the road, a black Camaro whipped by with three of his fans inside, so he turned the camera to them.

"No matter where we're stopping, we're able to see good people," Owen concluded. "See you guys soon. See you from the road. Bye!"

Last week, Owen announced his Love Bus Road Trip after buying a 1966 Volkswagen bus that he has named the Love Bus. He’ll be driving the bus from Nashville to Key West and plans to meet fans along the way. You can follow his journey and stops through the bus’ Twitter and Instagram.

“You can hang out with me in the bus, [I’ll] play some new songs for you,” Owen says, panning the shot to his new bus that has a North Carolina license plate that reads “Happy Bus.”
