Jason Aldean Is Back in the Studio

Newlywed Jason Aldean isn’t wasting any time after the success of Old Boots, New Dirt before getting back to it. The star is behind the glass in the recording studio yet again, working on his seventh album.

Aldean posted the above Instagram photo on July 14, showing him at the mic, enthusiastic about the new music. The singer married girlfriend Brittany Kerr in March after a six-month engagement, and it's likely she's influencing what's to come. The artist says she’s a much-needed presence in his life.

“She keeps me a little more focused and grounded, which is what I need in my life for sure,” Aldean told People shortly after getting married.

Perhaps the once-rough-riding Georgia boy will allow a soft side to come through in his music this time around. Aldean has not shied away from trying new things. The last record had him defending his choices to embrace the digital age and the evolving sounds of country music.

“No, ['Burnin’ It Down'] is not Hank Williams Sr. or George Jones, but this also isn’t the ’60s and the ’70s. As great as that music was, you have a new wave of artists that were influenced by a whole different world of music, and country music is gonna evolve just like any kind of music," he remarked to Buzzfeed at the time.

Fans didn’t seem to mind the shift, and as a result, the record was awarded a Billboard Music Award for Top Country Album.

Aldean's latest single, “Tonight Looks Good on You,” was released in March as the third track from Old Boots, New Dirt and reached No. 2 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart. The country star has been on his Burnin’ It Down tour with Florida Georgia Line, Tyler Farr and Miranda Lambert over the past year.

No release date for the next album, tentative or otherwise, has been shared as of yet.
