Jimmie Allen Lights Up ‘Today’ Show Stage With ‘Like You Do’ [Watch]
Fresh off his two week streak at No. 1 on the country charts with "Best Shot," Jimmie Allen is giving fans a taste of his new song "Like You Do" with a live performance on the Today show on Nov. 28.
"Like You Do" is in a similar vein of "Best Shot," with Allen singing about the woman who's stolen his heart, knowing her love is insurmountable. Allen and crew brought a shot of energy to the morning show stage with the sweet song, and the singer was energized as he lit up the broadcast with his engaging personality and upbeat delivery of the catchy tune.
"'Cause when love me like you do / Girl there ain't nothin' sweeter / I can't keep my hands off you / Oh and if I'm bein' honest / My hearts fallen I can't stop it, it's true / Ain't nobody in the world gonna love me like you do," Allen sings cheerfully in the chorus.

Allen co-wrote the track with his "Best Shot"collaborators Josh London and JP Williams, along with Jason Mizelle. It's featured on his debut album named after the street he grew up on, Mercury Lane. The burgeoning star made history by becoming the first black artist in country music to begin his career with a No. 1 hit.
"It's one of those things where you dream of something for so long and I'm so thankful. But I'm mostly happy because I get to honestly look my son in his eyes and tell him if you work hard enough and you're good to people, eventually you'll get your opportunity to to make your dreams happen," the humbled singer tells Today show hosts Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb.
The singer is continuing to give his "Best Shot" as part of Scotty McCreery's Seasons Change Tour now through Jan. 26. Then he'll join Kane Brown's live run.
