Who Needs James Corden When You Have Kacey Musgraves?
Watch out, James Corden — Kacey Musgraves now has a karaoke mic and she's got celebrity friends, too.
The "Dime Store Cowgirl" has been all but obsessed with a new mobile karaoke mic she bought, and she's apparently pulled Reese Witherspoon into her car for some fun. A video posted Tuesday (Jan. 16) shows the two women in the front seat, sing-songing a hello to fans into the mic. The microphone made its way to dinner, too, and Witherspoon sang into it with a little regret, knowing that she'll soon be addicted and her kids won't be pleased.
Earlier in the day, Musgraves shared several snippets of herself jamming with the microphone as she was getting makeup done.
"Not even makeup can stop me from the power of karaoke," she captions one clip. (It's important to note that this has been going on for weeks now over at Musgraves' Instagram Stories — worth following!). Her fun-filled karaoke day included famous hit songs by Celine Dion and Britney Spears.
When Musgraves isn't jamming out to some karaoke tunes, she's readying her forthcoming album, Golden Hour. She previously described the album to Entertainment Weekly as "trippy," explaining that she drew inspiration from a number of places, including '70s disco group the Bee Gees and Neil Young.
“I was thinking about how there are different masks that we wear that represent different sides of us. None of the masks are solely us, but they’re all us," Musgraves says. "On this record, there’s the lonely girl, the blissful girl, the new wife, the girl that’s missing her mom, the angry girl, the sarcastic girl, the ‘60s-sequined Cruella de Vil with the beehive, the shy girl, the life of the party, the winner, the loser — they’re all characters on this record."
