Thoughts and prayers are going out to Burns and Poe guitarist and singer, Keith Burns, who revealed this week that his 18-year-old daughter is battling leukemia.

Savannah Leigh, a freshman at North Georgia College and State University in Dahlonega, Ga., where she is majoring in physical therapy, is currently being monitored at Atlanta's Egleston Children's Hospital. The daughter of the former Trick Pony member is in desperate need of platelets and blood.

"She is strong," Burns tells Taste of Country of his courageous daughter. "Thanks [everyone] for all the prayers."
