Kelly Clarkson will "Jingle All the Way" through Music City this Christmas as she leads the 63rd Piedmont Natural Gas Nashville Christmas Parade as grand marshal.

"I love our city of Nashville and couldn't be more proud to be the grand marshal for this year's Christmas parade,” Clarkson tells the Tennessean.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Piedmont's Share the Warmth program to help families in need keep their heat running, as well as the Monroe Carell, Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt, a place the original American Idol champ often visits to sing to patients.

"I can't think of a more perfect match between kids, holidays, parades, balloons — just a perfect combination of factors altogether," says Julie Stadler, Monroe Carell, Jr.'s daughter.

The parade will start on Dec. 3 at 9AM CST. The theme of this year's event will be "The Musical Mile," which happens to be the length of the parade route.

"I think we have a great opportunity to once again showcase how fabulous Nashville is and how giving we are," Nashville Mayor Megan Barry says.

The trek kicks off from Eighth Avenue at Broadway, then will head across the Cumberland River and down the Woodland Street Bridge for its conclusion. The parade will feature decorative floats, performers and of course the jolly man from all the way up north, Santa Claus.

If you can't make it to Nashville to celebrate the holidays with Clarkson, the parade will be broadcast both locally and nationally. More information on the festivities is available on the official website.
