We're sensing a trend. Just months after Miranda Lambert announced her side project Pistol Annies, original 'American Idol' winner and sometimes country singer Kelly Clarkson lifts the curtain on her new side project called Already Famous. In fact, Clarkson revealed via Twitter that she, Jill Pickering and Kate Rapier would be heading into the studio this weekend to cut a few songs. Pickering and Rapier have been back-up vocalists for Clarkson in concert for some time.

"We switch on different songs. We all sing lead, alto, and soprano at different points," the women tweet on their new account.

The social media page is quite the hot-spot for all things Already Famous. Other tweets reveal that the three have been singing and writing together for over four years, and that the name comes from the silliest nail polish name they could find at Sephora.

On Saturday, they commented on the inevitable comparisons to Pistol Annies when a fan suggested touring with them. "I love the Pistol Annies! We have a very different sound but I do love theirs! I can't wait for their album!" they said.

Watch the new trio sing a country-leaning version of 'The Climb' by Miley Cyrus below. Fan response has been mostly positive, but there are no firm details on an album or if they'll tour soon.
