Despite Kelsea Ballerini's undeniable success within the country music arena in recent years, the girl from Knoxville, Tenn., can still remember when she was just a Kelly Clarkson fan. So on the very day that she was to open for Clarkson during the Meaning of Life Tour in California, it’s no surprise that she had much to celebrate.

"Things that haven't changed since I was 12," Ballerini writes on Instagram on Jan. 24 alongside a video of her in the bathroom — dressed in a terry bathrobe — singing Clarkson’s hit "Since U Been Gone" into a hairbrush. "My terrible dancing and my extreme love for Kelly Clarkson."

"TONIGHT I GET TO START TOUR WITH HER," she continues. "So here’s a video of me channeling my 12-year-old self again because I am just ...,” ending the statement with a series of excited emoji’s.

Ballerini has every right to be excited about not only the new tour, but also all that is still to come this year. Once she wraps up the tour with Clarkson, Ballerini will be off to start the Miss Me More Tour alongside Brett Young and opener Brandon Ratcliff.

"The message of 'Miss Me More' means so much to me and that’s why I’m so excited to announce this tour," Ballerini says in a press release about the tour, which will begin April 11. "It's about being bold and unapologetically standing up for yourself."
