Hailing from the Texas Panhandle, country singer Kevin Fowler has a track on his new record 'How Country Are Ya?' that specifically pays tribute to that area. In this exclusive video, he explains 'Panhandle Poorboy,' a beautifully penned, easygoing piece that describes his childhood growing up among tumbleweeds and windmills -- and so much more.

"When I wrote this song, I really wanted to write a song about who I am, where I come from," says Fowler.

He had to work a little harder for the track, since it's admittedly easier for him to write songs about drinking beer and having fun than writing in a more introspective way. Fowler's hard work paid off in this tribute to the Texas Panhandle.

‘How Country Are Ya?’ is available for pre-order on iTunes here. Taste of Country will continue to debut the rest of the tracks for Fowler’s fans (with 15 total), as well as the stories behind the songs. Checks back regularly through March 4, when the album is released.
