Lady Antebellum’s ‘CMT Crossroads’ Collaboration With Stevie Nicks Gets an Airdate
Ever since news broke early this year that Lady Antebellum and Stevie Nicks would be teaming up on 'CMT Crossroads,' classic rock and country music fans alike have been anxiously waiting to see the episode.
That wait is almost over. The episode will air on CMT on Sept. 13.
Stevie Nicks possesses one of the most recognizable female voices in rock n' roll. She's released several Grammy-nominated solo hits, and she wrote a number of award-winning songs for Fleetwood Mac. Nicks is responsible for earworms like 'Landslide,' 'The Chain,' 'The Edge of Seventeen' and more.
Although Nicks' collaboration with Lady A won't air for a few more weeks, a few details about the session have already leaked to anxious fans.
During the 10-song set, Lady A and Nicks will trade vocals on some of the rock legend's solo and Fleetwood Mac hits, including 'Edge of Seventeen, 'Rhiannon' and 'Gold Dust Woman.' Lady A's smash hit 'Need You Now' and a few other singles will get the collaborative treatment, too.
When you watch an episode of 'CMT Crossroads,' talented participants can make it look easy to rework each other's hits. But in reality, stars log plenty of hours preparing for the filming session. Nicks admitted that she spent three months listening to Lady A's discography.
"These songs are amazing," she reveals of the country trio's music (quote via Rolling Stone). "These songs make you feel like you're in love."
Nicks adds that she doesn't usually like to share 'Edge of Seventeen' with other artists, because the song is so personal to her. But she made an exception for Lady A.
"I'm proud to share it with Lady Antebellum, because they're good enough to do it," she spills.
To see the full episode, tune in to CMT on Sept. 13 at 10PM ET. With so much raw talent in one place, 'CMT Crossroads: Stevie Nicks and Lady Antebellum' will definitely be worth a little of your time.
