Lady Antebellum Share Stage With 3-Year-Old Heart Transplant Survivor [Watch]
Lady Antebellum got upstaged at their Atlanta show on Saturday, when 3-year old-heart transplant survivor Mallory and her older sister, Madison, stole the spotlight. The adorable sisters won the hearts of Lady A fans with the band’s song “Compass,” which they sang to get them through the hard times.
When they heard Lady A were coming to town on their Wheels Up tour, the family posted a video of the sisters singing the tune in the hopes of catching the band’s ear, sharing it with Atlanta’s WSB-TV and KICKS 101.5. Their wish? For the girls to sing on stage with one of country's hottest trios.
Their wish came true by showtime. Hillary Scott introduced the tiny songstresses, saying, “We have a few special guests joining us on stage right now. The first two are two of the most beautiful, adorable little girls I have ever seen in my life with the most inspiring story.” Lady A's tourmate, Hunter Hayes, even came out to make the performance even greater, playing mandolin along with the tune (including a memorable solo).
The girls walked out with confidence in matching adorable cowboy boots. Madison wasn’t shy about belting into the mic, but Mallory took a bit more coaxing to come out of her shell before waving enthusiastically to her family in the audience and singing along.
Charles Kelley told the girls “every rock star needs a catwalk,” and the two walked the stage with Scott as naturals.
“That was awesome. So awesome,” Scott said afterward, a little teary following the powerful performance.
Lady Antebellum are currently on tour around the country and recently released the video for their latest single, “Long Stretch of Love."
