'America's Got Talent' returns to NBC on May 31, but it's doubtful one famous reality TV star will be watching. 'American Idol' runner up Lauren Alaina probably isn't the biggest fan of the "other" competition show. She auditioned -- twice -- only to be turned away before getting a chance to impress judges Piers Morgan, Sharon Osbourne and Howie Mandel.

Alaina shared this story with Morgan Thursday night during her visit to 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.' "You didn't even make it to the judges' stage," Morgan asked in disbelief. "This is a scandal!" Earlier, Morgan admitted he thought she was the better singer of the two finalists.

"So, for all the people out there who try out for 'America's Got Talent' and don't make it, try out for 'American Idol,'" Alaina deadpanned to the audience.

Earlier in the visit, Leno asked about the rumored romance between Alaina and 'American Idol' winner Scotty McCreery. The two had tongues wagging after she unleashed a series of rapid fire kisses on McCreery's face while he sang his emotional victory song Wednesday night. Sadly, she says, those were just friendly pecks. "Everyone wants us to like each other, we just can't seem to do it."

Alaina's voice was weak, but at least one source reported she still managed to sing with 'The Tonight Show' band during commercial breaks. McCreery was also scheduled to join Jay Leno, but his visit has been postponed. Look for the two to sing together on the 'Today' show on June 2. Both he and Alaina will sing for their summer concert series that morning.
