Lauren Alaina Is Emotional About Her First-Ever CMA Nomination
Lauren Alaina's good year just got better. After nabbing her first No. 1 single in early 2017 with the heartfelt "Road Less Traveled," she's up for a CMA award. Alaina learned the news with the rest of country music on Monday (Sept. 4), and suffice it to say, she is very excited.
The singer was actually in New York City to help announce the CMA Awards nominations on Good Morning America alongside Brothers Osborne and Dustin Lynch. During the show, she learned that she was nominated for New Artist of the Year alongside Luke Combs, Old Dominion, Jon Pardi and Brett Young. Shortly after the announcement, Alaina shared her surprised face with fans on Twitter.

"This is my 'I got my very first CMA Awards nomination' face. I can hardly believe it," she writes, sharing a photo that shows her with disbelief on her face.
The "Doin' Fine" singer is seeing all her dreams come true this year, as she recently shared the stage with Keith Urban during a powerful duet of "We Were Us." The country superstar invited Alaina to join him onstage at a recent gig in California at the California Mid-State Fair in Paso Robles, Calif., and Alaina proved a fitting duet partner as she filled in on Miranda Lambert's parts from the 2013 duet.
After coming in second place on American Idol Season 10, Alaina released her Wildflower album (2011). Her second studio album, Road Less Traveled, came out in early 2017.
