Lauren Alaina earned raves from the judges on a special Halloween-themed episode of Dancing With the Stars on Monday (Oct. 28), performing an Argentina tango despite several injured ribs.

Alaina and her partner, Gleb Savchenko, hit the dance floor on Monday night to perform the tango to Sarah Vaughan's "Whatever Lola Wants," which Alaina jokingly re-titled "Whatever Lauren Wants." She described her character for the Halloween dance as "a strong, independent woman-vampire who gets what she wants."

Alaina and Savchenko earned a score of 27 out of a possible 30 for their dance, and judge Carrie Ann Inaba specifically called out how strong Alaina's core appeared during the performance. The 24-year-old country singer confessed to host Eric Andrews afterward that she has been dancing through injury since the first week of the competition, and it's just getting worse.

“I have four hurt ribs," she said. “When she said my core looked strong I looked straight at Gleb because all I have been trying to do is pretend my ribs aren’t broken this whole competition. I fractured the one on the left the first week of the show and I haven’t had these X-rayed, but they don’t feel great.”

“She’s so strong," Savchnko raved about his partner. "I’m so proud that she got through it. We had a tough week and I’m really proud of you," he added, addressing Alaina directly. "You did a great job.”

Dancing With the Stars airs each Monday at 8PM ET on ABC.
