Thanksgiving 2011 will be extra special for Lauren Alaina and her family -- especially for her father. This year, his 17-year-old daughter will be singing the National Anthem on Thanksgiving day at Ford Field when the Green Bay Packers visit the Detroit Lions in their home territory in Michigan.

"We’re going to celebrate [Thanksgiving] the day before, because I'm going to be singing at the game," Alaina tells Taste of Country. "My dad’s excited about that! He’s going to go. Daddy’s like, ‘That’s all right! We can celebrate it a day early! We’ll go to the game!’"

In other news for the 'American Idol' runner-up turned country star, she has just released her second single, 'Georgia Peaches,' from her debut album, 'Wildflower.' Upon its release in October, 'Wildflower' locked in the No. 1 country album spot on iTunes and debuted in the Top 5 on Billboard's Top 200 all-genre chart.

Next year will be just as much of a whirlwind for Alaina, as she will be hitting the road with a big star which will be announced in the coming weeks.

Look for the Packers vs. Lions game to air on FOX, beginning at 12PM ET on Nov. 24, Thanksgiving Day.
