Lee Brice recruited his wife, Sara, to play the leading lady in his new video for "Rumor." The leading lady of his real life proves to be a convincing love interest in the nearly four-minute clip, which was shot in Nashville by Ryan "Spidy" Smith.

“The idea behind the video was essentially us making the ‘Rumor’ true,” Brice tells People. “One area of our lives that we have to work so hard at is ‘us time.’ Between three children, and me being on the road so much, it’s important that I show Sara she’s loved and appreciated as much as I possibly can. So this is a video romanticizing about a special night out together—just us.”

Brice penned the sultry ballad with Ashley Gorley and Kyle Jacobs, and the storyline has a man tiptoeing at the idea of making a move on his longtime friend. While his guy friends tease him that a rumor is going around that the two friends are together, he's ready to let the truth come out.

"There's a rumor going 'round about me and you / Stirring up our little town the last week or two / So tell me why we even trying to deny this feeling / I feel it, don't you feel it too? / There's a rumor going 'round and 'round and 'round / Whatcha say we make it true / We make it true," Brice croons on the chorus.

The soulful ballad showcases Brice's memorable vocals with hints of R&B flavor, and the music video shows he and his wife getting ready for a romantic date, complete with some guitar playing and a relaxing bath.

The real-life couple then meet up at a hotel restaurant for a quiet evening together—and it's evident from their smiles that there's no acting involved at their joy to see each other.
