Actress-singer Leighton Meester has already tried out the pop world with songs like 'Somebody to Love' and an appearance in Cobra Starship's 'Good Girls Go Bad,' but ever since filming 'Country Strong,' she seems rather smitten with Music City.

"I fell in love with the experience of making music in Nashville, so never say never," Meester says about recording her own country album, according to CMT.

With the right co-writers, Meester just might be able to pull it off. In 'Country Strong,' Meester takes on the role of Chiles Stanton, an aspiring country singer. To get into character, she had the help of co-star Tim McGraw -- and she spent some time getting to know the Nashville scene herself.

"When we were filming down in Nashville, I went to the Ryman to see Martina McBride. She was great. And then one night I went out to all those places, like Robert's, Tootsie's and The Stage," she adds.

We'll see what kind of reception Meester receives as her portrayal of a country singer in 'Country Strong,' which hits theaters nationwide on Jan. 7 -- and maybe she'll eventually find herself booking shows on Lower Broadway, performing like she does in her 'Summer Girl' scene from the movie.
