It’s no small thing when of country’s most popular acts cancels a show, let alone several, but sometimes you have to do what you have to do. Little Big Town announced on Wednesday (June 17) that they will have to cancel or reschedule all shows through July 30, as band member Jimi Westbrook is in need of vocal cord surgery.

The singer is now on vocal rest and will undergo surgery next week to remove a polyp from his vocal cord.

“It breaks our hearts to let you guys down, but Jimi’s health is the most important thing and he is expected to make a full recovery with rest and treatment,” reads an official statement on the band's website. "We will keep everyone updated on Jimi’s progress. Thanks for your understanding and support."

The Pain Killer tour has been underway since November of 2014 and is set to run through November 2015. Little Big Town recently spent time at CMA Fest in Nashville and were nominated for Group Video of the Year for "Day Drinking" at the CMT Music Awards earlier in the month.
