LoCash Cowboys Get Crowd Involved During 2013 ToC Music Festival Opening Set
Before kicking off the inaugural Taste of Country Music Festival in Hunter, N.Y. on Thursday night (June 13), Chris Lucas and Preston Brust of the LoCash Cowboys told Taste of Country that one song from their new album could be the 'Duck Dynasty' theme song, should the popular A&E show ever need another. That turned into something of a prophetic statement.
Brust says 'Hey Hey Hey' is his favorite song on 'LoCash Cowboys,' in stores on Tuesday (June 18). They "captured the life, the language, the lifestyle of the redneck," he explains, adding, "It feels like the 'Duck Dynasty' theme song, but when we sing it, the rednecks come to life."
Fast forward to their live set opening for Parmalee and Willie Nelson at ToC Fest, when Brust plucked "Bubba" from the crowd. The 'Duck Dynasty' look-alike was just in the audience having a good time and getting rained on before the singer pulled him to the stage to enjoy the song in the heat of it. The crowd went wild when "Bubba" (not his real name) talked about his life in the country -- yes, he owns a truck, spends time in his backyard shack and hunts deer.
LoCash then covered Fountain's of Wayne's 'Stacy's Mom,' closing the show with the Beastie Boys' '(You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (to Party!).' The duo also played their current single 'Chase a Little Love' and what's likely to be a future single, 'Best Seat in the House.'
The 2013 edition of the Taste of Country Music Festival continues with performances from Lady Antebellum, Trace Adkins, Hunter Hayes and more on Friday and Saturday. More info here.
