Loretta Lynn Still Focused on Music After Stroke and Broken Hip
Loretta Lynn, 86, has had her share of health concerns in recent months, including a scary fall that broke her hip in January. However, the legendary singer appears to be unfazed and is right back where she belongs: Working on new music.
"At the Ranch yesterday filming for a music video for my new album called Wouldn't It Be Great," she says in an update to fans on her official Facebook page.
After Lynn suffered a stroke in May 2017, she cleared her calendar and pushed back an album originally slated for last August. By all accounts she had been recovering well after the stroke, even performing at the Tennessee Motorcycle and Music Revival in September, but was set back again by her hip fracture at the top of 2018.
With her latest post, it seems that fans can anticipate that she will be able to deliver new music this year as she was hoping to do. The Country Music Hall of Famer has a great track record in this arena, having managed to return to the stage and recording studio over the past five years each time she's been forced to overcome a health hurdle.
Lynn is universally loved as one of country music's all-time great singers and a national treasure, with pull-no-punches hits like "The Pill," "Fist City" and "You Ain't Woman Enough."
