Maddie & Tae's "Shut Up and Fish" was inspired by an unfortunate event that actually happened. They share the story behind the song and an acoustic performance in this brand-new clip for Radio Disney Country.

"Three or four summers ago, we decided to go fishing, and we called two of our guy friends to see if they wanted to tag along," Tae Dye says. "They thought it was going to be more of a date situation, which they were so wrong! And so we left as soon we could and we wrote a song about it."

The rising country duo share a stripped-down performance of the humorous track with Radio Disney Country's About a Song in the video above, which is premiering exclusively via Taste of Country. "Shut Up and Fish" is the third single from Maddie & Tae's debut album, Start Here, which Dot Records released in August of 2015.

Radio Disney is an innovative broadcast featuring a mix of young artists and today’s biggest country stars. The content includes music videos, in-studio interviews and performances, and Maddie & Tae are favorites among Radio Disney Country fans. They took home Favorite Country Artist and Favorite Country Song at the Radio Disney Music Awards in May.

“Radio Disney is the greatest,” Marlow says. “As a place where young people can come together, have a place to hear music that doesn’t think about genre or whatever, it’s an amazing place to have a home!"

Tune in on Radio Disney Country, the Disney Channel, the Radio Disney app and RadioDisney.com.
