Mason Ramsey Brings Low-Key Version of ‘Famous’ to ‘GMA’ [Watch]
Walmart boy Mason Ramsey — the 11-year-old singer who went viral thanks to a cover of Hank Williams in a Walmart — made his Good Morning America debut on Wednesday (July 26). The young singer brought his original song "Famous" to a New York City live audience and those watching as home, as well as a cover of Williams' "Lovesick Blues."
Ramsey spoke about his rapid rise to fame before the performance, admitting that his popularity is "a big deal." Dressed in an embellished suit jacket, white cowboy hat and boots, the young singer was at ease in front of the studio audience and grateful for his success.
"It's bigger than me," he says. "I'm like, 'Wow!' Walmart, thank you!"
He adds that being able to sing in front of any audience is "the awesomest thing I could ever do. If there is anything I could think of, it's to sing."

But though he's performed at Coachella, the Grand Ole Opry and now Good Morning America, there are still boxes to check on Ramsey's bucket list. "I want to perform all around the world," he admits.
The singer went on to sing his debut single, "Famous," for the very first time on television. Following that performance, he also covered Williams' "Lovesick Blues" complete with a memorable yodel. Later came a heartfelt message to his fans via Instagram — a video post showing his grandfather, Ernie, by his side. The clip highlights all of the career milestones Ramsey has achieved in just a few short months.
"Being from a small town of 700 people, and having no internet … playing shows gave us something to do … even if it was just at the nursing home, truck stop, or Walmart," Ramsey writes:
"Famous" was written by Tyler Hubbard, Corey Crowder, Sarah Buxton and Canaan Smith. It appears on his debut EP of the same name.
