Mickey Guyton brought her effortless country vocals to a song totally out of her genre, Beyonce's "If I Were a Boy," but it may as well have been hers all along. The artist made the song her own in a video of an intimate recording she posted on her social media accounts, and fans were blown away.

Guyton noted in the caption that fans had been asking for a cover of the tune and that it's one of her favorites, which is evident in her delivery. Her warm tone and powerful voice soar over the notes with ease, showing off her true talent in a big way.

The singer-songwriter recently released a single called "Why Baby Why" and is currently working on some new music to be released later this year. She appeared on Brad Paisley’s Crushin’ It Tour alongside Justin Moore, and she was nominated for an ACM Award for New Female Vocalist of the Year at the 2016 ceremony.

Guyton also got the surprise of a lifetime in April when she got to meet her idol, Dolly Parton thanks to CBS This Morning, whose team noted her love for the legend in a previous interview and took it upon themselves to make it happen. Though she was all squeals and tears, Guyton managed to tell Parton how much she loved her, and Parton received the praise gracefully, as always.
