Old Dominion Share Personal ‘One Man Band’ at 2019 CMA Awards
Old Dominion shared a personal track from their newest album at the 2019 CMA Awards. The country band and Vocal Group of the Year nominees brought "One Man Band" to the Bridgestone Arena stage on Wednesday night (Nov. 13).
Old Dominion frontman Matthew Ramsey proved he doesn't want to be a "One Man Band" on or off the stage. The track is a true love song for a group of guys who work closely together every day, both touring as well as in the studio.
Ramsey performed the fan-favorite track with bandmates Trevor Rosen, Brad Tursi, Whit Sellers and Geoff Sprung live from Nashville in an intimate stage setting. The production gave everyone the feel of what it might feel like to be a part of that "One Man Band," with the backdrop of an empty venue.

"One of the things we talk about the most in this band is how we can't imagine being on this crazy ride alone," Old Dominion lead singer Matthew Ramsey says of the song. "We have each other to celebrate the highs and get through the challenges with. It's one of the best parts of being a band. Sure, you can make music alone. But if you find people you have a chemistry with a whole new world opens up."
Old Dominion have touched on the topic of love before, in singles such as "Hotel Key" and “Written in the Sand." "One Man Band," however, takes it a step further.
Old Dominion's "One Man Band" was penned by Ramsey, Rosen, and Tursi with Josh Osborne. The track is featured on their self-titled third album which was released back on October 25th.
"You can go it alone," Ramsey continues. "But sometimes there is another person out there that adds something to your 'music' that you would have never had on your own. That's the show you want to take on the road. That's what this song is about."
Old Dominion are currently on tour in the United States through the end of the year. The group will kick off their 2020 touring trek in Canada with opening acts Mitchell Tenpenny and Meghan Patrick prior to joining Kenny Chesney's Chillaxification Tour.
