After 36 hours, Pistol Annies have the top album on iTunes. The all-female trio's debut 'Hell on Heels' was released on Tuesday, and quickly vaulted to the top, becoming the best-selling digital album as of this afternoon -- ahead of hit releases by pop superstars like Jay-Z and Kanye West.

Miranda Lambert shared her excitement via Twitter Wednesday afternoon. "You guys sent Pistol Annies to #1 on @iTunesMusic! Thank you all for getting a copy of the album!" The only retailer that 'Hell on Heels' is  available on is iTunes, but if fans really want a hard copy of the album they can get one through the band's official website.

Currently, 'The R.E.D. Album' by rapper Game is No. 2 on the iTunes chart, followed by Jay-Z and Kanye West's collaboration called 'Watch the Throne.' Recent country releases from Sunny Sweeney (No. 15), Luke Bryan (No. 16) and Eric Church (No. 19) also make the Top 20. This particular chart is somewhat fluid, however, and positions change quickly during a given day.

Lambert is joined by Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley on Pistol Annies' critically acclaimed debut effort. The three friends have been writing together for a few years, and say they have another two to three albums worth of music written and ready to be recorded for future projects.
