Rachel Wammack Gets Engaged to Boyfriend Noah Purcell
Country newcomer Rachel Wammack is ready to say "I do." The "Damage" singer got engaged to longtime boyfriend Noah Purcell on Monday (March 12) and shared a photo with the ring with her fans on social media.
"I'm going to be Mrs. Noah Purcell," Wammack captioned a pic of the two them smiling as she holds up her left hand. No other details about the proposal were provided.
Photos of the couple from as far back as May 2017 can be found on Purcell's Instagram page. He too is a musician. Some details that emerge from pictures on his page show that he's from Idaho, but was once in a Christian music band called Refuge out of Trevecca Nazarene University.
The Muscle Shoals, Alabama-raised Wammack is signed to Sony Music Nashville. She released her debut single "Damage" in 2018. It's an acoustic and piano-based ballad drawn from her personal experience as a bartender.
"I didn't have an idea for the day," she tells Taste of Country, recalling her scheduled writing session with Tom Douglas and David Hodges. "I got there 30 minutes early, and when I got there I was just chilling out and my friend texted me and said, 'Do some damage.' The story evolved from that moment."
It was Douglas who pushed her define "Damage," and from there the song really exposed itself as a vulnerable love story. She's recorded several songs for a debut project on Sony, but it's not clear when fans will hear them.
Look for Wammack at Country Lakeshake in Chicago this June.
