RaeLynn Shares Update on Service Dog’s Cancer Battle: ‘We Plan to Take It Day by Day’
Just over a month after sharing the news that her diabetes service dog, Jazz, has cancer, RaeLynn tells Taste of Country that her beloved companion is still battling his heart out against the dreaded disease.
"Jazz is doing better," RaeLynn says of the German Shepherd, who is trained to monitor her sugar levels and alert her if they become dangerous. "The cancer is in his mouth and there really is not much we can do about it. We are basically doing surgery roughly every 12 weeks to cut it out."
From all appearances, RaeLynn says Jazz isn't acting any differently, despite his cancer battle: "He’s acting a whole lot better. He’s alert and he loves to play ball and he's still totally active, so we just plan to take it day by day."
RaeLynn Dishes on Her First-Ever Kiss
While Jazz could undergo chemo treatments to battle the disease, RaeLynn explains that the vet simply doesn't recommend it at this point. Instead, the country hitmaker is willing to hand things over to a higher power.
"I’m just taking it day by day," she admits to Taste of Country. “I totally believe in the power of prayer and that helps me get through it."
RaeLynn recently released a new song, "Tailgate," which she wrote alongside Canaan Smith, Corey Crowder and Florida Georgia Line's Tyler Hubbard.
