Reba McEntire, Jason Aldean Gush Over Kelly Clarkson
With two monster country collaborations already under her belt, Kelly Clarkson is solidifying her status as a country music superstar with her current single, 'Mr. Know It All,' which is poised to crack the Top 20 on Billboard's Country Singles chart. Country radio isn't the only aspect of the genre showing love to Clarkson -- pals Reba McEntire and Jason Aldean are just a few of her country peers who praise the Texas native.
"We always have a good time hanging backstage," Aldean says about his 'Don't You Wanna Stay' duet partner (quote via CMT). The two singers teamed up for the smash hit last year, which spent multiple weeks at No. 1 and was named Single of the Year and Vocal Event of the Year at this year's ACM ceremony.
Sharing Aldean's sentiments about Clarkson, McEntire says, "She's a blast to sing and be onstage with. We love doing karaoke -- especially singing backup for folks getting up to sing!"
"She's like a little sister to me and fits in with our business team and our family terrifically," adds Clarkson's 'Because of You' singing partner. It's rather ironic McEntire refers to Clarkson as a "sister" when "daughter" may be a more appropriate term. Clarkson is dating Brandon Blackstock, McEntire's stepson and manager of Blake Shelton.
Another country artist that praises the big-voiced singer on a weekly basis is the Clarkson's 'Duets' co-mentor, Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland.
Clarkson is hitting the road this summer with the Fray on her co-headlining 2012 summer tour. The outing kicks off in mid-July, with dates scheduled through the end of September. Click here for tour dates and ticket information.
