Scotty McCreery, referred to as "Scotty the Body" by Ryan Seacrest on tonight's episode of 'American Idol,' performed Alan Jackson's ballad 'Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning).'

So how good was he? Well, one of the judge's impassioned comments should clue you in to how damn good he was tonight. "I am just in love with you, I can't help it," Jennifer Lopez said wistfully. "I can tell how much you think about it and you know who you are and you know what touches other people. It's the mark of someone who is meant to do this."

Sporting a black leather jacket and cradling an acoustic guitar while perched atop a stool, McCreery could not have picked a more "country" song to perform. And if Jackson was watching 'American Idol' tonight, he no doubt flashed a grin at the way the young McCreery handled his patriotic song -- especially in light of recent events regarding our government and Osama bin Laden. It was certainly an intimate moment between McCreery and millions of Americans!

Randy Jackson was beyond moved, saying, "It was a perfect song choice for where we are as a country and dude, I think, those lyrics and a simple guy singing simple songs, you set your mark on this stage and you are ready for superstardom and I hope you make it."

Steven Tyler sensed McCreerey's passion, calling his rendition "beautiful."

We could not agree more.
