Scotty McCreery Sings ‘Five More Minutes,’ Talks Upcoming Wedding on ‘Harry’ [Watch]
Scotty McCreery is getting closer and closer to tying the knot with his lifetime love Gabi Dugal, but the country star is still finding some time to get out there to support the release of his new album, Seasons Change. On Thursday (May 17), McCreery made an appearance on the Harry talk show to not only perform his No.1 gold (soon to be platinum) hit "Five More Minutes," but also talk about his impending wedding.
"Five More Minutes" Had a Deep Impact on Scotty's Dad
"She's taking most of the load," he explains to show host Harry Connick Jr., speaking of Dugal's devotion to the details of the wedding. "She’s planning all of it. She’s killing it. I’m trying to chime in where I can."
McCreery can never seem to talk about his fiancée without a huge smile taking over his face. "We’ve known each other since kindergarten," he explains. "So, it's one of those fate things."
Singing about 'one of those fate things' is the focus of McCreery’s new album, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Country Albums chart when it was released in March. He also was inspired by his very own love story to write his new single "This Is It," which speaks of the couple's love and eventual engagement.
"I’ve shared so much of my life on my new album, Seasons Change, and so many of the songs were inspired by the love of my life, Gabi," he says of the song in a press release and why he released the song ahead of his upcoming nuptials. "This is our story. I hope everyone will celebrate with us!"
