You won't find Scotty McCreery pulling on a pair of lucky socks for the umpteenth night in a row. He doesn't carry a rabbit's foot, or follow a precise pre-show routine to ensure success on 'American Idol.' The Garner, N.C. native shares that he simply asks for help from the one person who can give it to him.

"I just pray, just ask God that he uses me out there on stage, and that I do everything to his glory," McCreery tells radio station WRAL. "Because he's the reason I'm here." The visit was part of this week's homecoming tour that sends each of the three finalists back to the towns they grew up in.

Next week on 'Idol,' McCreery tells Taste of Country that he'll play three songs. He chooses one, the judges choose another and producer Jimmy Iovine chooses one. He wouldn't share what songs he's working on, but did reveal a couple of artists who he'd love to be his superstar duet partner should the competition continue that tradition later this month. McCreery would ask Josh Turner to visit the show, unless one other famous singer can be located.

"Maybe if Elvis is still alive, living in Las Vegas like some people say he, could come out and sing with me, you never know," he cracks to WQDR in Raleigh, N.C.
