Shania Twain to Perform Career-Spanning Medley at 2019 American Music Awards
Shania Twain will take the stage at the 2019 American Music Awards to perform a special medley of her biggest hits from across her career, marking the first time she's performed at the AMAs in 16 years.
The five-time American Music Award winner is the best-selling female country artist of all time. She last performed at the awards ceremony in 2003.
Twain joins a performance lineup that includes Thomas Rhett, who is teaming with Wells Fargo to raise awareness for their Holiday Food Bank, with donations going toward Feeding America. Other performers from across all genres include Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, Billie Eilish, Camilla Cabello, Dua Lipa and Lizzo.
Swift is nominated in several categories, and she is also set to receive the Artist of the Decade award.
Country music is well-represented in the nominations. Rhett will compete for Favorite Male Artist Country, facing off against Luke Combs and Kane Brown. Carrie Underwood, Dan + Shay and Brown will vie for Favorite Album Country, while Underwood, Maren Morris and Kelsea Ballerini are up for Favorite Female Artist Country. Blake Shelton scored a nod for Favorite Song Country, along with Combs and Dan + Shay. Dan + Shay are also in the running for Favorite Duo/Group Country against Florida Georgia Line and Old Dominion.
Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus' massive hit "Old Town Road" scored multiple nods in 2019, including Collaboration of the Year.
The 2019 American Music Awards are set to air live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Nov. 24 at 8PM ET on ABC.
