Early this year, the Swon Brothers released their EP, Timeless, which features six songs. The sibling duo stopped by the Taste of Country Nights studio and got real about the relationships that inspired songs on the EP.

Timeless is filled with great songs, but two in particular stand out. "Killing Me" and "Nobody" are two personal favorites, despite how different the songs are.

"'Killing Me' is one of those songs that we kind of wrote it from the perspective of my brother going through what he was going through at the time," Colton says. "That’s more of like you’re dating someone that you know you shouldn’t. They’re like poison and you text them back even if you swear you’re not going to text them back.”

Zach playfully jokes about how he doesn't celebrate Valentine's Day (he calls it "chocolate day") and isn't much of a romantic. He says the song about being frustrated over love is relatable to pretty much anyone.

“It was just like one of those things that everybody has dated and stayed in a relationship that they weren’t supposed to be in. You can’t help what you feel. You take it. You take the good with the bad," he explains.

"Nobody," on the other hand, is a song that Colton says definitely makes him think of his girlfriend, Caroline. The soulful song is different for the sibling duo, but it's being well received so far.

“A lot of people are gravitating towards that song. It’s more soulful. It’s got this weird intro to it — it’s just quirky. I think a lot of people like it because it’s for those people that love love. That one person that gets you like nobody gets you," Colton explains, adding that they haven't yet picked a single from the EP.

The Swon Brothers are currently on tour with Carrie Underwood on her 2016 Storyteller Tour.  They're sure to be playing songs from Timeless, which is out now on iTunes.

Sam Alex is the host of Taste of Country Nights radio, a syndicated night show which airs on more than 60 Townsquare Media Group stations nationwide.
