Ashley Monroe has become one of the most-respected female singer-songwriters in country music over the course of a long, slow climb in Nashville. She moved to Music City with her mom after her father died of cancer, and scored a songwriting deal when she was 14. She recorded an album titled 'Satisfied' for Sony in 2006, but when two singles failed to have an impact, it was shelved. Monroe made a career for herself as a songwriter and performer, and finally hit the spotlight when she formed Pistol Annies with her longtime friend Miranda Lambert and Angaleena Presley in 2011. After they went on hiatus, she signed with Warner Music Nashville and released the highly-acclaimed 'Like a Rose' album in 2013, working with producer Vince Gill. The follow-up, 2015's 'The Blade,' was also critically hailed, with reviewers praising the winning combination of Monroe's sharp songwriting and angelic voice. Monroe scored her first No. 1 hit in 2015 with "Lonely Tonight," a duet with Blake Shelton. The song was nominated for a Grammy for Best Country Duo/Group Performance.
