Ashley Monroe Basks in the Glow of Nature in ‘Wild Love’ Video
Ashley Monroe takes to the wilderness to capture the spirit of her song "Wild Love."
Featured on her 2018 album, Sparrow, "Wild Love" is a cinematic composition that has Monroe yearning for passionate love. The singer keeps it au naturel in the music video, walking barefoot in the forest along fallen trees and beds of flowers.
Monroe takes on the persona of a mythical creature as she basks in the glow of nature with her only her pure lyrics to keep her company. Beautiful shots of her standing in dusky sunlight and walking through a peaceful stream reflect the natural essence of the song.
"Wild love / Wash over me like Barcelona rain / Wild love / Take over me, I'll never be the same / I want love / I want a wild, wild, wild, wild love / Oh I want love," she sings, perched in the middle of the woods in a vintage yellow armchair with an open guitar case laying beside her with a small bouquet of flowers inside.
Monroe co-wrote "Wild Love" with Waylon Payne and Brendan Benson for the critically acclaimed album produced by Dave Cobb. It follows the first single off Sparrow, "Hands On You." She co-wrote all 12 tracks on the project.
"I love being really, really honest in my music, because in our real lives, we can be so guarded and not be honest with ourselves," she tells The Boot. "Something about just letting it out in music is such a pure form."
Monroe has another special project in the works—an upcoming Pistol Annies album with her fellow brazen bandmates Miranda Lambert and Angaleena Presley. Presley, who is expecting her second child, shared in a July of 2018 interview that the album is complete. No official title or release date has been revealed.
