Taste of Country Nights host Sam Alex is ready for his close-up! The celebrated on-air personality will play himself in an upcoming episode of the hit ABC series Nashville.

Taste of Country Nights is a syndicated radio show that airs on more than 60 Townsquare Media Group stations nationwide in the evenings, and it features a mix of music and Alex' exclusive interviews with some of the biggest stars in country music. Alex originally hails from the Chicago area, but he's put down roots in Music City now, turning up at concerts from his favorite artists and industry events all over town. His extensive work for radio stations all over the country prepared him for the ToC Nights gig, which also puts him on the red carpet with the stars at some of Nashville's most glamorous events.

In fact, that's what Alex will be doing in an episode of Nashville titled "After You've Gone" that's slated to air on Wednesday night (May 11). Look for Alex near the beginning of the episode, as country star turned movie star Juliette Barnes -- played by Hayden Panettiere -- walks the red carpet and fields questions from reporters at the New York City premiere of her new film, Shenandoah Girl. Alex asks her a question in his guest appearance.

"I've seen every episode of Nashville. I'm a huge fan," Alex says. "I always acted in the school plays through college ... It was a thrill working with the wonderful cast and crew."

Dancing With the Stars alum Derek Hough returns in the character of Noah, and Kesha makes a cameo as herself in "After You've Gone," which was written by Debra Fordham and directed by Bethany Rooney.

Alex is having a high-profile year so far in 2016; he was also nominated for National On-Air Personality of the Year at the 2016 ACM Awards, an honor that he says helped to bring him to the attention of Nashville's producers.
