Taylor Swift is certainly a multi-talented young lady. In addition to her well-documented abilities as a singer, songwriter and instrumentalist, it turns out that the 22-year-old performer has been hiding an ability as a human beatbox.

Swift opened up the 2012 Grammy Nominations Concert with an impromptu performance of her hit single 'Mean' with her co-host, rapper LL Cool J. "But you have to do the human beatbox," he told her. "You have to give me a beat."

The pop-country superstar hesitated. "This is going to be terrible," she protested. "I'm only doing this for you."

"I can't sing, so we're even," the rapper quipped, upon which the young superstar gamely launched into a heavy backbeat using only her mouth for percussion -- and flailing her left arm around in an appropriately "threatening" manner.

True to his word, LL Cool J sang an absolutely terrible version of 'Mean,' which he probably should have ended with the line about "how I can't sing." But it was all in good fun, and the crowd went crazy, even if Swift seemed a bit embarrassed by the whole thing.

But let's look on the bright side -- it's always good to learn new skills, right? Y'know, just in case the whole country thing doesn't work out for her.
