After selling out her upcoming Speak Now World Tour 2011 in a matter of minutes, Taylor Swift has added 16 more dates to the tour. The additional dates now has the superstar headlining a total of 78 shows in stadiums and arenas in 63 cities in 42 states and provinces in the U.S. and Canada.

David Nail will join Swift on the added dates in October, while Adam Brand will open the September 24 date, as well as the performances taking place in November.

The tour, which launched February 9 in Singapore, will kick off in the U.S. on May 27 with two sold-out shows at the Qwest Center in Omaha, Neb. The traveling roadshow will now wrap just prior to Thanksgiving with two shows -- November 21 and 22 -- at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Tickets for the added North American shows will go on sale in the coming weeks.
