Thomas Rhett and Kelsea Ballerini Struggle Hard in Hilarious ‘CMA Fest’ Special Bloopers
Thomas Rhett and Kelsea Ballerini are back for a second year hosting the three-hour CMA Fest television special, and let's hope that gig goes better than this commercial taping.
A hilarious blooper reel released ahead of the Aug. 8 air date (ABC) shows that Rhett and Ballerini are far from pros, even though they've done this before.
Rhett leads the nearly one-minute clip, as he tries to tell viewers about the special guests who will appear on the special. "We have so many big stars taking the stage this year," he says. "Luke Bryan, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban and ... Mickey Mouse?" he says, deadpanning as the iconic mouse appears on screen and waves at the co-hosts.
Later, Mickey offers up a high-five to Rhett when Ballerini ever so politely asks for a hug. Throughout the clip, the two country stars seem at ease with each other, even if they mess up a time or two. After a few mishaps (which include memorable dance moves, a pause because TR has a hair in his eye and plenty of giggles), the singers accomplish the goal of telling people to watch the show.
The four-day CMA Festival took place in June in Nashville, so the special was pre-taped. CMA Fest, the Music Event of Summer airs on Aug. 8 at 8PM ET on ABC. The show will mainly showcase sets from the fest's nightly shows at the largest venue, Nissan Stadium, but also some of the performances held at smaller venues around town. This year's lineup included Dierks Bentley, Luke Combs, Blake Shelton and Chris Stapleton, among others.
