Two of the biggest young stars in country music joined forces at the 2017 ACM Awards on Sunday night (April 2) in Las Vegas. Thomas Rhett performed his brand-new single, "Craving You," joined by Maren Morris, who also appears on the recording.

Rhett took the stage dressed in black, with black-striped white sneakers and a blue guitar to perform the pop-inflected song. Electric lightning flashed across a huge screen behind him as Morris joined him onstage, entering the stage in a long, flowing gown with a daring slit up the left side up to her thigh.

The pair gave an energetic dual performance, playing to each other as much as the audience as they sang.

The song is the lead single from Rhett's upcoming third album.

Thomas Rhett Talks "Craving You" and Fatherhood

“Working with Maren was amazing,” Rhett shares. “It was so nice to be able to work with … you know, there’s a lot of females that are killing it right now, and Maren is definitely one of those girls whose voice is just undeniably powerful and soulful, and on top of that, just a really sweet person to work with.”

Rhett is looking at a busy year offstage, too. He and his wife Lauren are expecting their first child, and also adopting a child from Africa.

“One thing I can’t wait for is to see what they’re interested in,” he tells Taste of Country. “Are they gonna like music, or are they gonna resent it because that’s my job? And one thing I’m terrified about is, I’m already so busy … how in the world am I gonna balance the career and kids? And I think the answer is, it’s impossible. So, lots of Red Bull. Dierks [Bentley] said lots of Red Bull.”

Rhett was also nominated for multiple categories at the ACMs, including Song of the Year, which he won for "Die a Happy Man." Minutes after his performance with Morris, he also took home Male Vocalist of the Year.
