Thomas Rhett Channels Bruno Mars, Makes ‘Uptown Funk’ Country [Watch]
Thomas Rhett just can't seem to get enough of Bruno Mars!
Rhett is making his shows even more of a can't-miss opportunity, as he's now closing out his set with the massive pop hit 'Uptown Funk.' The viral song is a Mark Ronson collaboration with Mars, and while it's not even close to a country tune, it's infectious and gets listeners moving as soon as the beat drops.
That's why it's perfect for 'Make Me Wanna' hitmaker Rhett.
At the end of his set, the country rising star throws on a pair of sunglasses, a hat and a sport coat to play the part of Mars (albeit a country version, with that twang), and as soon as fans hear the familiar beat, they start cheering -- loudly. Rhett snaps to the beat with one leg out before turning around to sing to the crowd.
As expected, the country singer doesn't do 'Uptown Funk' all alone, as the crowd joins in to sing "hot damn" and "whoo" behind him. How about those dance moves, huh?
This isn't the first time Rhett has covered a Mars song -- he also recorded 'When I Was Your Man,' surprising fans at his ability to step outside of the box so well.
