Country Music Feuds – Travis Tritt vs. Billy Ray Cyrus
“As far as I’m concerned, to those people who don’t like ‘Achy Breaky Heart,’ here’s a quarter, call someone who cares!” That was how Billy Ray Cyrus accepted his 1993 AMA for Favorite Country Single. It was a direct statement to Travis Tritt, who had a 1991 single called 'Here’s a Quarter, Call Someone Who Cares.'
In 1992, Tritt called 'Achy Breaky Heart' “frivolous,” adding that it “doesn’t really make much of a statement.” He also called the video an "a-- wiggling contest." Years later, Tritt recognized the mistake he made. "You just don’t say anything negative about anybody. Period."
