Trust me, I'm just as surprised as you are that there's such a hole in the market for truth. But here we are carving up rumors like Thanksgiving turkey. I'm going to start with the Keith Urban rumor that's too good to be true and really go deep on where it originated and how you can tell whether someone's just making things up online. After that, a quick update on two major events on the horizon for Keith Urban. And finally, an update on Maggie Ball, Keith's bandmate, who some people tried to say he was having an affair with, she finally broke her silence on social media. Okay, here's what I'm referring to. And according to reports, the prenup says that for every year he remained sober, Keith earns $600,000 from Nicole. she's going to or maybe even has paid him some 10 or 11 million. Now, I've got a lot of questions about that that we'll get to, but for perspective, Forbes reported that Keith made about $35 million in 2019. So, in his world, $600,000 is not a ton of money. It's 1.7% like if you made $80,000 a year and you got a bonus check for $1,300. It's nice, but it's not life-changing. But let's dig into the source for all this before we get to the logic. You scroll down a little bit here and they actually don't name a source only quote reports but that links to radar online. So radar online is the source. But look what happens when you scroll down there. Radar online, the source is sourcing reports. They don't even say an anonymous source or a person who's seen the prenup. It's just reports and a news that's worth less than the paper it's printed on. I dug through like a halfozen other outlets that reported the same thing. But it all circles back to Radar Online, so it's it's not like there's some other legitimate source out there who stands on a little firmer footing. It's a classic media echo chamber that started as its own kind of echo chamber. For those not familiar with celebrity news outlet credibility, Radar is at best a C-tier outlet, meaning they mix a lot of fact with a whole lot of embellishment and some pure fiction. At least they're not F tier, which would just be all lies. Your top tier or S tier would be national news outlets that still do print and have been around for about a hundred years. People magazine does print, which is why I'm going to call them a tier. And that's important to note because People has been spreading a lot of Keith and Nicole rumors, too, but they are all from an anonymous source. Below that, you have an outlet like TMZ at Btier. TMZ breaks a ton of news, and sometimes they swing and miss. I know they do a lot of tabloid trash, but you want to know who stayed away from this cocaine clause business? TMZ. It was a rumor too wild for TMZ, y'all. I mean, that should just be concerning. The thing that gets me was this question of why, as in, why would Nicole agree to this cocaine clause? I think I've heard of clauses that say if the husband cheats, then the wife gets everything. So, in that spirit, some kind of punitive clause makes sense. Nicole wants some extra assurance that Keith won't relapse. It's harsh, but logical. There's nothing logical about paying someone over a half a million dollars just to stay sober year after year. Just say if he doesn't, you'll leave his ass and take half his money. I mean, the results the same, right? None of this, it's worth pointing out, makes the 36-page divorce filing. In fact, there is not even mention of a prenuptual agreement, which makes you sort of wonder if that even exists. They look to have all their shared assets and trusts, and they worked out all their other assets prior to filing. A prenup might mention future earnings, which is pretty big because both of these celebrities are about to make some real money. Nicole just signed on for season three of Taylor Sheridan's Lioness at over $1 million an episode. And Keith is going to finish his tour in Nashville on October 17th, and then be all in on promoting a new Taylor Sheridan CBS reality show called The Road, which debuts on October 19th. I'm sort of dying to see how he promotes that show, but avoids talking about the divorce. There's been absolutely nothing new on his Instagram page since the split, and I just don't think he can do a show like CBS Mornings with Gail King and not be forced to give a cursory line about why they broke up.
