Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw Win 2012 CMA Award for Musical Event of the Year
Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney certainly had country music fans buzzing with excitement when they announced earlier this year that they were teaming up for a musical collaboration. Now, the hit, 'Feel Like a Rock Star,' has earned the duo the 2012 CMA Award for Musical Event of the Year.
The duo was up against the Lionel Richie/Darius Rucker duet, 'Stuck on You,' Taylor Swift's collaboration with the Civil Wars, 'Safe and Sound,' 'Dixie Highway' from Alan Jackson and Zac Brown Band, plus the multi-artist collaboration 'Roll Me Up and Smoke Me When I Die' featuring Willie Nelson, Snoop Dogg, Kris Kristofferson and Jamey Johnson.
Chesney and McGraw recently wrapped their Brothers of the Sun Tour, where the duo closed their concerts with a string of collaborations, often including Chesney's 'She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy,' McGraw's 'Indian Outlaw,' 'Feel Like a Rock Star' and a cover of Jackson Browne's 'Running on Empty.'
